Necessary

soft water; - sphagnum moss; - drainage; - a pot; - humus; - sand; - leafy ground; - sod land; - peat; - a vessel with water; - liquid complex fertilizer

Instructions

Step 1

Maintain the optimal air temperature in the room where the flower pot is located. It should be about 18-20 degrees Celsius, however, short-term maintenance of begonia at a temperature of 12-14 degrees will not affect the appearance of the plant. If kept at lower temperatures, the plant may die. Begonias are not demanding on fresh air, but regular airing of the room will only strengthen the flowers.

Step 2

Begonia is capable of consuming a large amount of water, therefore it is recommended to keep the soil moist. But remember that the top layers of the substrate must be dry before each watering. Excessive moisture in the pot will lead to mold and rot. Try to water the begonias carefully, do not get on the leaves. To do this, use soft, warm and well-settled water. The flower is very picky about air humidity, does not like spraying, which is why brown spots form on the leaves. Place a container of water next to the pot, the evaporation of which will maintain optimal humidity.

Step 3

This type of flowers categorically does not like it when they break the peace and move the pot from one place to another. The plant thrives on windowsills that face southeast or southwest. It is still better to keep begonias in a bright room, but protected from direct sunlight. Even a short exposure of the plant to the sun can lead to severe burns to the leaves.

Step 4

Repot the flower once every two years (young plants should be replanted annually in early spring). To do this, you will need light, loose and nutritious soil, as well as good drainage. You can use the following mixture: two parts of leafy soil, one part of sod land, one part of peat, the same amount of humus and one third of a part of sand. If you buy the mixture at the store, add finely chopped sphagnum moss to the soil. Feed the flowering plant with a special compound fertilizer once every two weeks.
