Drywall has become an indispensable material for interior finishing work. They not only sheathe and level the walls, but also use it to create decorative elements and zoning the room. Plasterboard arches and partitions help to divide the space into functional zones, separate space for built-in wardrobes, or simply divide the room into two isolated ones.

Instructions

Step 1

When erecting independent structures from drywall, you have to use a frame made of metal profiles, which give the material a certain rigidity. Thus, the doorway in the plasterboard wall is not limited only to the arch, it is quite possible to mount an ordinary door.

Step 2

To do this, a reinforced metal profile or a flat bar with greater rigidity must be used as a frame, and the space around the proposed doorway must be additionally reinforced with a box made of dry timber. The main thing is to know in advance the size of the canvas, since the internal mortgages must have a gap of a couple of centimeters between them and the box.

Step 3

Before you sew up the partition with plasterboard, you can additionally strengthen the structure with mineral wool, which not only increases sound insulation, but also strengthens the structure.

Step 4

When choosing a door, you need to take into account its weight. It is better to opt for light hollow versions than choosing an array. Installation of the door is carried out in the same way as installation in a regular opening - first of all, a box is installed, on which the door leaf is then attached using hinges.

Step 5

Since the plasterboard partition can be left hollow, other types of doors can be used. For example, sliding doors, which not only do not take up extra space, but when opened, will be compactly hidden inside the partition itself. For the installation of sliding doors, it is necessary to reinforce the upper part of the structure with a bar, to which the guides will be attached and the door leaf will be hung directly on them.
