It is time for the snow to melt, and our shoes will inevitably be exposed to excess moisture. Surely you have already thrown it out more than once due to the fact that it is irretrievably spoiled. It's time to find out how you can protect your shoes from moisture.
Instructions
Step 1
On the shelves of shoe stores, there are sprays and creams to protect shoes from moisture, but their prices are not available to everyone. The ideal option for drying shoes without hitting your wallet is special dryers that will provide you with dry shoes or boots in 4-5 hours. Their main advantage is their inexpensive price.
Step 2
One of the surest popular ways to protect shoes from getting wet is to treat the surface and seams with fat and melted wax. This method will not help you get rid of this problem once and for all. You will have to update the protective layer periodically.
Step 3
Prepare a mixture of 40 parts fish oil, 3 parts turpentine and 10 parts wax. Rub the product into the skin of your favorite shoes and dry them.
Step 4
Make a mixture of 3 parts melted paraffin wax and 1 part flaxseed oil. Heat the oil and gradually add paraffin to it, stir until a homogeneous mass is formed. Cool the product down and apply to the surface of the shoe.
Step 5
Poorly glued sole is often the reason for moisture penetration into your boots or shoes. In this case, it is worth glueing the sole again and stitching it.
Step 6
Holes and cracks in the sole can be pro-olifed. To improve adhesion of the product to the surface, sand the sole, apply drying oil and let it dry completely. To get ahead of this problem, do this procedure with newly purchased boots.
