Planting plants is called picking. This is the process of thinning seedlings and transplanting them into a large container. A pick is made in order to increase the area of nutrition for the plants.

Necessary

  • - plants;
  • - transplant pots;
  • - soil;
  • - scapula.

Instructions

Step 1

Picking allows you to get strong strong seedlings or is done so that the plants, which become crowded together, fully develop. The first action that precedes the planting process is watering. Getting it right is imperative. That is, in moderation.

Step 2

If the plant is not watered enough, some of the roots will remain in dry soil and come off. As a result, the dived seedling will not take root in a new place and will die. This is one problem. If the plant is poured before picking, you can get two whole problems. The earth, which is preserved on the roots during transplantation, will slide down from them, breaking off part, and exposing the rest and making them vulnerable. If the soil is heavy, it will stick around the roots with its entire mass, hang on them like a lump and simply break fragile roots.

Step 3

Watering should be moderate but sufficient. The pots should have drainage holes so that excess water can drain off. And the soil should be loose and not heavy. After watering the plants to be planted and the excess moisture draining off, you can start planting them.

Step 4

Suitable containers are prepared for seating in advance. If these are fast-growing plants, the pots for planting them should be twice as large as the original ones. If the plants before transplanting grew in a common container, focus on the height of the stem and the width of the seedling crown - its root system will be about the same size as the crown. It is tedious to pick up the pot with a margin of 2-3 centimeters. The pots should “grow” with the plants, and the feeding area should increase in proportion to their growth.

Step 5

For planting plants, a nutritious soil is prepared. Depending on the plants, it may contain one or another amount of different substances, but mainly peat, leaf humus and sand in different proportions. Many plants need drainage when planting.

Step 6

The plant is gently pushed on as deeply as possible with a spatula or a special device for transplanting, removed from the soil, placed on the "barrel" and in this form, on a flat surface, is transferred to the planting site. There it is installed in a pot, on the bottom of which a lot of soil is poured, and covered with soil. The soil around the stem is compacted by hand.

Step 7

After transplanting, the seedlings are watered and left in a warm place for acclimatization. Plants planted in separate containers should be well lit. In addition to the increased area of food, they need a sufficient amount of light. If the picking is carried out early (for example, in March) in conditions of insufficient lighting, the transplanted plants must be supplemented with light.
