Fir is a plant from the pine family. It looks very decorative thanks to its soft and flat needles with white stripes on the underside. Fir also looks beautiful because of the upright purple cones. The tree lives up to 400 years, its needles have healing properties. Growing a fir is not particularly difficult: no more difficult than its closest relatives.

Instructions

Step 1

Plant fir in April or late August to late September, in moist but not waterlogged loamy soil, in cloudy weather or even rain. Take a tree for 5-7 years, as it will take root better. Prepare the planting pit 2 weeks before planting the tree. Dig it about 70 cm deep, let it be slightly wider than the roots of a fir.

Step 2

Loosen the bottom by 10-15 cm, add a nutrient mixture of clay and leafy soil, humus, peat and river sand in a ratio of 2: 3: 1: 1. Then add 10 kg of sawdust, 200 g of nitroammophoska and mix. Plant the fir by sprinkling it with regular garden soil on top. The roots should lie horizontally, the root collar at ground level.

Step 3

Water the tree at the rate of 15-20 liters of water per plant, mulch the near-trunk circle with peat, sawdust or chips with a layer of 5-8 cm. Further, young firs should be fed regularly, loosened the soil near the trunk, cover the crown with spruce branches for the winter.
