The limescale in the teapot doesn't just spoil the taste of the tea. Limescale increases the boiling time of the water and therefore requires more energy. It can even damage the heating element of the kettle. But the main thing is that scale can seriously harm the human body.

Instructions

Step 1

Scale that forms on the spiral elements of water heaters occurs as a result of the deposition of salts present in the water on them. Heavy metal salts, the residues of which are deposited on the spiral, are present in any water, even if it is passed through a filter. And even more so, they are in ordinary tap water. It is necessary to deal with limescale regularly and in the most effective ways.

Step 2

Limescale is not just a thin film that forms in a teacup after tea made with limed water is poured into it. It contains substances harmful to the body that form salt chemical compounds. At temperatures above forty, these compounds begin to harden, and at + 60 ° C they precipitate, which is tightly "welded" to the spiral of the teapot. Different water contains different salts, so the composition of the scale is different. But the harder the water, the more scale is formed. The most common is carbonate scale. Sulfate, saturated with many compounds, is less common, but it is more harmful to the body. The most dangerous is silicate scale. This substance is aggressive, which not only can deform the inner surfaces of the teapot, but also contributes to the formation of kidney stones in humans.

Step 3

A person constantly receives a certain amount of salt along with food and liquid that enters the body. But the maximum dose of salt residues in the form of a hard-to-dissolve solid sediment enters the body precisely with water slagged with scale. In the body, the remnants of salts do not dissolve, are not excreted, but settle in the kidneys and gallbladder in the form of solid formations, which then have to be removed surgically. Therefore, the scale in the kettle must be removed to prevent it from entering the body.

Step 4

From the folk methods of struggle, you can use vinegar (100 g per liter kettle, boil and let cool). Dissolves limescale and citric acid (tablespoon per liter, boil and leave overnight). You can use baking soda to descale the kettle - also 100 g, act as with vinegar.
