Hunting is one of the oldest male occupations. Today hunting is one of the branches of the national economy. Also, for some people, such an activity is a sport and recreation. And the specificity of this type of activity lies in the fact that the proof of the success of the event and its superiority over the world of animals, as a rule, is a certain trophy. For a longer reminder of their exploits, a skin is usually left as a trophy. It is made and constantly kept in sight. For example, if it's a bear skin, you can hang it on the wall or spread it at the feet of an armchair or sofa.

Instructions

Step 1

In order to show off a bear hide, it must be properly handled and preserved. If you are hunting a bear and plan to use its skin, take care of this in advance so as not to spoil the future trophy during the hunt. Namely, estimate the distance from which you will hunt, and choose the right ammo. After you have hunted the animal, lay or hang it in such a way that the skin does not get stained with blood, and cover the wounds with sawdust.

Step 2

In order to remove the skin, use one of the methods described below. For example, try skinning with a pipe. To do this, make an incision along the inside, which will run from the anus to the hind legs of the animal. Then make another small incision from elbows to heels. Then carefully remove the skin.

Step 3

For the stocking skinning method, make incisions around the mouth, eyelids, loosen the ears and pull off the skin like a stocking. So you will not have a single extra hole on your skin, only natural ones.

Step 4

When using any of the above methods, remember that the bones of the tail and paws cannot be preserved, they must be removed from the skin, and the nose must be left. After you have removed the skin, clean it well from the remaining pieces of meat and fat. Then remove the entire subcutaneous layer of muscle. Stretch the hide with the flesh outward on a wooden spacer. Carry out all cleaning only with a blunt knife, otherwise you will damage the skin. After thoroughly cleaning the inside, wash off any bruising, paying attention to the areas around the paws, ears, nose, and tail. After that, turn the pelt out with the nap and start tidying up the outside of your trophy. Rinse and comb the pile. After these steps, gently pull the skin over the spears and let it dry. Make sure that any gaps that appear do not increase during drying.
