Moving is a responsible event, and you need to properly prepare for it, carefully packing your things. You can use the services of professionals or lay down your property yourself. In any case, this should not be done in the last hours - you risk forgetting something, and carelessly folded objects can be damaged on the way.

Necessary

  • - carton boxes;
  • - bags;
  • - packing tape;
  • - Scotch;
  • - film for furniture;
  • - sheets of cardboard;
  • - paper.

Instructions

Step 1

Prepare packing materials in advance. You will need cardboard boxes, sturdy bags, film, rope, tape, and paper and stickers for labels. Everything you need can be purchased in specialized transportation companies, a lot is purchased in hardware stores. The boxes can be taken from any department of household appliances or groceries.

Step 2

Start packing with mezzanines and back cabinets. In the process, analyze things. Broken household appliances, old newspapers and magazines, unnecessary clothes and toys should be thrown away or given away. Pack non-seasonal clothing, extra bedding, sports equipment, and other long-term storage items in strong double bags and tape.

Step 3

The next step is packing books and papers. Books can be folded into boxes, but it is much more convenient to pack them in film, so the paper will not be damaged if accidentally splashed with water. Sort the books by size and stack them. Place each in a trash bag, then wrap with plastic. Be careful with the corners of the bindings, they are easily deformed. For security, the stacks can be secured with tape. Make handles out of it, so it will be more convenient for movers to carry books. Sort the papers and fold them into separate strong bags. Photos are best placed in large paper envelopes.

Step 4

Roll clothes into rolls and place in double plastic bags. You can fold it into suitcases or bags. Place your shoes in plastic bags and place them in clothing bags. Shoes and boots laid in this way are not deformed. Especially valuable items are best transported in cardboard boxes.

Step 5

Prepare your home appliances in advance. Take out all the food from the refrigerator, defrost it. Pack small appliances in boxes and transfer them with crumpled paper or rags. The TV can be wrapped in a blanket, and wrap it over with furniture film.

Step 6

Pack the dishes in cardboard boxes, transferring items with bubble wrap, corrugated cardboard and crumpled paper. Kitchen towels and other textiles can be used as pads. Make sure that no metal objects get into the crystal and china boxes.

Step 7

Empty all cupboards and dresser drawers, then wrap the furniture in plastic to protect the wood from damage. Choose special tape with self-adhesive edges. If you decide to disassemble the furniture, put all the small parts and screws in a separate signed package so that there will be no problems assembling in a new place. Place mirrors and glass shelves between two sheets of cardboard and drag with tape.

Step 8

Sign all boxes and bags. It is convenient to use stickers of different colors, from which the movers will immediately understand where to put things. For example, all packages and bales of baby items can be labeled with green stickers, kitchen utensils with pink, and living room items with blue. Especially mark boxes with fragile items - dishes, knickknacks, perfumes.
