Drywall is a modern, inexpensive and fairly easy-to-install building material. With its help, you can effortlessly level the walls, ceiling, or make a light interior partition. Any sufficiently experienced home craftsman can cope with such work without any special problems.

Necessary

  • - carpentry level
  • - construction knife
  • - twine
  • - plumb line
  • - screwdriver or screwdriver
  • - drill
  • - jigsaw
  • - self-tapping screws

Instructions

Step 1

If you decide to mount drywall - first of all, purchase the materials necessary for the lathing. In principle, a wooden beam can be used for this, but now there is a specially designed tin profile for the lathing, and guides for mounting on the wall. For wall mounting, purchase screws with a plastic dowel, and for attaching the profile to each other and fixing drywall - small mounting screws.

Step 2

When installing, first of all, lay a guide along one of the walls (in the case of installing a partition or wall covering, along the ceiling), carefully checking the carpenter's level. After that, you can already lay the guides around the room, relying on the first guide to avoid skewing. If you are installing drywall on a wall, use a plumb line. This work can be facilitated by a laser carpentry level.

Step 3

After that, install the crate from the profile. In this case, the distance between it should not exceed 80 centimeters, and the profile should be installed in such a way that when installing a drywall sheet, it overlaps the extreme profile, exactly in the middle, leaving room for the next sheet. At the intersection points of the profiles, at the bottom part, the sides are cut off, and the connection point itself is suspended from the ceiling using a special suspension. If you are installing a ceiling, do not forget to provide suspensions in the place where you will have a chandelier or other heavy interior details.

Step 4

Mark the drywall sheets so that the parts adjacent to the wall after installation have a small gap. To cut drywall, an incision is made along straight lines with a construction knife on one side, after which the sheet breaks along the line, and the cardboard is cut on the other side. A jigsaw is used for curly lines.

Step 5

After that, you can mount the drywall on the crate. At the end, the seams between the sheets are glued with a serpentine tape to avoid the appearance of cracks and leveled with putty.
