Instructions

Step 1

There are several types of warm floors. They are subdivided into water and electric. The most in demand are electrical, which in turn are film, cable and rod. In addition, according to the principle of heating, they are divided into infrared and convection.

Step 2

The most popular are infrared film floors, as they have a number of environmental advantages: they evenly distribute the temperature in the room, do not dry the air, neutralize foreign odors, slightly ionize the air and have an anti-allergenic effect.

Step 3

The film allows you to install infrared floor heating even under such capricious coverings as carpet and laminate. The heating elements of such a floor are securely mounted between two layers of polyester foil, and the floor coverings retain only five to nine percent of the heat.

Step 4

The foil is designed for dry installation, so no screed is required before laying it. Place heat-reflecting material in an area that will not be cluttered by furniture afterwards.

Step 5

Cut the thermal foil into strips of the desired size. Lay it on the heat-reflecting material with the copper rails down and secure it with tape.

Step 6

Before connecting the thermal film to the thermostat, strip off the insulation at the end of the wire by one centimeter, insert the bare end of the wire into the end of the terminal clamp and clamp it with pliers. Arrange the wires so that the wire bundles pass under the skirting board.

Step 7

Insulate the piece of copper bus and wire connections using small pieces of rubber insulation (it should be included). This operation should be done very carefully and carefully.

Step 8

Next, measure the electrical resistance of the warm floor at the ends of the wires that will be connected to the thermostat. Calculate the power consumption from the mains using the formula W = V² / R and compare this result with the maximum permissible load of the thermostat.

Step 9

Connect the wires to the thermostat, install the floor sensor on the bottom of the thermal film and connect it to the thermostat. In turn, connect the thermostat to the mains.

Step 10

Switch on the system and set the floor temperature before installing the flooring. Check how each strip of film heats up. The topcoat can now be laid.
