You can sheathe and insulate the house with foam. It is an environmentally friendly material with excellent heat-saving, hydro- and soundproofing properties. It is also relatively inexpensive. It has been used in construction for over 40 years.

Necessary

  • - Styrofoam;
  • - slats;
  • - assembly glue mixture or tile glue;
  • - reinforced mesh;
  • - primer;
  • - putty for outdoor use;
  • - dye;
  • - puncher;
  • - knife;
  • - notched trowel;
  • - dowels.

Instructions

Step 1

First, take measurements. Calculate the area of the walls and determine the required amount of material. For cladding a house, it is better to take not thick, but dense sheets of polystyrene, the thickness of which does not exceed 5 cm. If you think that this is not enough for insulation, you can install the foam in 2 rows. True, in this case you will have to make a crate. Find the right timber. Its thickness should be equal to a double layer of foam. It is fastened with dowels.

Step 2

Clean the walls before starting work. Align and repair chips if necessary. Remove electrical wires. Dilute the assembly adhesive mixture. You can also use tile adhesive. Prime and leave for a while. Install the plinth batten, carefully level it using a building level.

Step 3

The glue mixture should not be thick, but not liquid, so that it does not run down the surface. Using a notched trowel, lubricate the part of the wall to install the first foam sheet. Apply glue around its perimeter, 2 cm back from the edge, and on the central part. Place it against the wall and press down lightly. Use a punch to make holes for the dowels. Fasten the sheet in at least five places - in the corners and in the center. Install all subsequent sheets in the same way. Install the next row with an offset. The joints between the sheets are glued.

Step 4

After you have completely secured all the foam, putty it with the same adhesive mixture. Stick a reinforced mesh on it. Cut it into strips along the length of the wall. Using a spatula, grease a part of the wall with glue. Install the strip. Flatten. All subsequent ones are attached in the same way. Glue the mesh with a slight overlap so that there are no cracks.

Step 5

Plaster the walls the next day. For this, use a finishing putty for outdoor use or decorative plaster. Paint after drying.
