We will tell you about the intricacies of self-assembly of an acrylic bathtub on aerated concrete blocks.

Necessary

2 cylinders of polyurethane foam, a gun for polyurethane foam, a sponge, water, a bucket, an acrylic bath, aerated concrete blocks 100x200x600 mm, a hacksaw, a tape measure, a simple pencil, a building level, tile adhesive, a spatula

Instructions

Step 1

To enhance noise absorption and reduce the thermal conductivity of the acrylic bathtub, before installing, we cover it on the outside with foam, turning it upside down in the protective package. First, we wipe the surface with a damp washcloth, and then foamed in small areas of 0.5 sq. M.

Thanks to the gun for polyurethane foam, its consumption is reduced by 1.5 times compared to application from a balloon.

Around the technological holes in the bath, we leave a gap of 1.5-2 cm, so that later you can freely connect the siphon and drain-overflow. Rectangular areas of the bathtub measuring 200x600 mm, which will be in contact with the blocks, are not covered with foam (in the future, it may sag and the product will lose stability).

Step 2

Before installing the bath on aerated concrete, we do not use the legs and hooks, which are usually included in the kit, because they are unreliable and the product installed on them could be displaced in the future by any shock.

We try on and mark with a pencil the places where the blocks under the bathtub will be installed on the floor. We bring it into the bathroom and install it on the blocks with those areas that were left free when foaming. To determine the final height of the bath, add 12-15 mm to its height - for the future layer of tiles with glue. With a laser level (or building level) we measure and mark this distance on the wall, in the corners. We cut the aerated concrete blocks to the desired height with a knife. Again we try on the product for them, setting it at the desired level.

Step 3

We knead the tile glue. We fix the blocks on the floor with it (for the required height, you can install them on the edge, gluing each support from 2 parts) - you get a monolithic base for the bath.

Step 4

In the center of the wall, we glue a vertical aerated concrete pillar vertically so that in the future the edge of the product does not move and does not spring when resting on it. For stability, we glue the posts and at the far corners of the bath. Next, we put glue on the blocks and posts with a layer of 40-50 mm and install the bath, slightly pressing each corner of it. We check their location at the same height using a level.

Step 5

We remove excess glue and let it dry for a day. Then you can lay the bathtub on the front side with aerated concrete (or drywall) and tiled with tiles.
