Necessary

  • - willow twig;
  • - furniture stick;
  • - tapes;
  • - plates.

Instructions

Step 1

To prepare a willow twig for work, i.e. get a white rod, you need to boil it. Bring the water to a boil in a large container and dip the twigs into it. Boil them for an hour over high heat, and then over moderate. It takes two hours for the rod to become light; for darker shades, boil the material for up to 4 hours. Then peel the bark from the cane. If this is not done, the rods will lose their presentation. Remove the bark with a coarse glove or splits.

Step 2

Immediately before braiding, soak the rods for an hour in water and 15 minutes in a wet cloth. Repeat this procedure until the rods are flexible and resilient.

Step 3

To make the frame of a wicker stool with a height of 430-470 cm and a seat diameter of 340-390 mm, take 4 willow sticks, the diameter of which is 40-50 mm.

Step 4

Bend the upper part of the rod, and cut the lower one at a distance of 110 mm by half the thickness and leave thin ends. After that, bend two hoops according to the template: the first is 280 mm in diameter, it will be the top one during assembly; and the second one is 330 mm in diameter - it will be the bottom one.

Step 5

To make a stool with legs, take two rods to make them: 25 mm in diameter, 420 mm in length. The end of the projections, 60 mm from the edge, fold and cut. Fix the upper brace in the same way. Bend both rods of the spacer and give them a semi-oval shape. Then fasten the legs of the stool to the upper hoop at an equal distance. Go around the hoop with the thin edges of the legs and nail them.

Step 6

Now finish assembling the frame. To do this, twist the upper hoop around with thin willow twigs. At the edges, braid the upper and lower hoop with openwork weaving. To make the stool soft, place foam rubber on top of the netting and braid the seat again. Thus, the stool will turn out to be soft, very stylish and graceful.

Step 7

Such a wicker stool will look original in any room, adding to the interior the flavor of antiquity, nature and the spring sun.
