A circular sawmill is the minimum equipment with which you can set up a small business for sawing round logs into boards and beams. The full cycle of woodworking is not within the power of every enterprise, but it is quite realistic to start a business with a sawmill, which one or two workers can handle. If you wish and have the skills to work with the equipment, you can build a simple circular sawmill on your own.

Necessary

  • - wooden or metal trestles;
  • - boards;
  • - metal plates;
  • - fasteners (screws, screws, nuts);
  • - a tool for working with wood and metal;
  • - Electrical engine.

Instructions

Step 1

Familiarize yourself with the design of the circular sawmill and its distinctive features. Unlike a band sawmill, a circular saw as a working body has a circular toothed saw mounted on the machine spindle. It is also possible to mount the saw directly on the motor shaft. Processing sawlogs on a sawmill includes edging and dividing unedged boards, as well as transverse sawing of workpieces according to the required dimensions.

Step 2

Using ready-made schemes of industrial samples of a circular sawmill, draw up your own drawing of the device, based on your needs. If you are experiencing difficulties in drawing up your own project of the sawmill, use the ready-made drawings. The simplest design of the sawmill has the form of a table, under which there is a shaft with a circular saw. The cutting part of the saw rises above the plane of the table. The saw shaft is driven by a motor through a belt drive. Such a machine is popularly called "circular".

Step 3

Make the base of the sawmill (table or bed). Use simple wooden or metal trestles for the bed, tying them together with pieces of thick board. On top of this base attach a table made of steel plates about 200 mm wide and 4 mm thick. Tie the plates together with jumpers and screws.

Step 4

Attach the cutting tool to the table from below so that the saw blade is exactly in the middle of the gap between the plates. Fasten the saw to the table through the holes previously made in the plates and base plate. Countersink the holes in the base plate from the front and assemble with countersunk screws.

Step 5

Screw the assembled table to the bed with screws, and insert an insert with a slot for a saw blade into the gap between the plates. When the saw is in operation, the stop bar is attached to the table with clamps. The sawmill is almost ready to go.
