How to make a fireplace: step by step instructions

First, when assembling the fireplace, the foundation is poured. For this, a hole is dug in the ground. You need to go deep into the ground when pouring the base of the fireplace by about 40 cm.

At the bottom of the dug hole, rubble and sand are poured and tamped. Then a formwork and a frame made of a reinforcing bar are installed in the pit. At the next stage, the concrete mixture is poured. The height of the basement of the fireplace foundation should be approximately 15 cm.

Two weeks after the foundation is erected, you can start assembling the fireplace. The foundation itself should first be laid with roofing material. Further, one row of fireclay bricks is laid out on a waterproof foundation.

After the base is completely ready, you can start assembling the fireplace itself. Perform this procedure using the order. This is the name of a special kind of schemes, in which the configuration of each brick row of the fireplace is presented in all details.

At the end of the assembly, the walls of the fireplace are usually plastered. Heating of such furnace equipment usually begins two weeks after its construction.

It is impossible to start operating the fireplace earlier. Otherwise, the seams of its masonry may crack.

What rules should be followed during assembly

So, how to make a fireplace in a country house is understandable. When assembling such structures with your own hands, among other things, certain rules must be followed.

It is necessary to locate this type of stove equipment in the house in such a way that the door of its firebox is not opposite the front door. Otherwise, the fireplace will not heat the room very efficiently.

When assembling such structures, among other things, it is worth observing the following rules:

  • in the places where the door and ash pan are located, an asbestos cord must be laid;
  • the fireplace combustion chamber is not plastered from the inside.

The rear wall of the fireplace combustion chamber is always placed at a slight angle. Between the adjoining wall and the fireplace, according to fire safety rules, it is supposed to lay asbestos sheets with a thickness of at least 2 cm.
