Curbstone and its application

The curb stone is produced in different forms. It can serve as a decorative function or serve as a necessary element in the construction of the roadway. With its help, the area for pedestrians and the road for the passage of cars are divided. The curb when framing sidewalks and paths lined with tiles does not allow the material to creep and increases its service life.

Scope of curbs

The side stone can be used to separate the carriageway on city roads, frame green spaces, and is used on highways. Since finished products are constantly subjected to significant mechanical stress, the main requirement for the quality of the material is the ability to endure them for a long time.

Curb stones are often used in the improvement of sidewalks and city roads, summer cottages, private land and gardens. They can differ depending on what their area of application is.

Materials of manufacture and concrete characteristics

The curb can be made of heavy or fine concrete. The concrete grade is chosen from F100 to F300. When receiving curbs with a length of 1 m using fine-grained concrete, it is recommended to use vibrocompression. Products with a length of 3 m, 6 m are made of heavy concrete, additionally performing reinforcement.

Marking (spelling options)

Product marking is a conventional designation representing a group of letters and numbers. It is compiled according to the sample XX 1. 2. 3. 4, where XX means the type of stone, the number in place 1 means the length of the product, 2 - the height, 3 - the width, 4 represents the radius of curvature and is indicated not for all products. For example, in the marking of BR 100.30.15, the last paragraph is missing.

Marking is applied to the end of the product. The lot must contain at least 10% of stones with the designation.

Warehousing, packaging, transportation

The curb stone is stored in stacks, the height of which should not exceed two meters. Use wooden spacers. Careful sorting is done by brand and size.

To transport the curbstone from place to place, for safety it is packed in packages. Then fixation is carried out using wire or other devices.

Quality control

To control the quality of the curb stone, observations are carried out, measurements of controlled indicators, determination of defects. For example, the presence of cracks is not allowed, except for subtle surface cracks, in which the width does not reach 0.1 mm. Straightness deviations of less than 6 mm are permissible. To carry out control procedures, the side stone is selected using a statistical sample in accordance with GOST.
