If you have a dacha where you and your family not only work, but also relax, for example, coming to barbecue, you certainly need to be able to saw and chop wood. After all, they are not only suitable for kindling a stove in winter, but also for lighting a fire under a barbecue in summer.

Instructions

Step 1

You can, of course, buy charcoal or collect twigs cut from the fruit trees in your garden. However, coal costs money, and the urgent need for it is extremely rare. But if you often cook kebabs on your site, branches from fruit trees will obviously not be enough for you. Therefore, the best solution would be to dilute the "fruit" firewood with birch or (even better) oak. Of course, we have no right to cut down trees, so it's better to buy firewood. They will cost an order of magnitude cheaper than coal. You do not need to saw them, but you will have to prick them.

Step 2

You can save yourself the hassle and hire someone to split the amount of wood you need. However, if you are a physically strong man, do it yourself - save your money.

Step 3

First take out the ax. There are different types of axes, but you will need a cleaver - it is specially made for splitting firewood. You do not need to sharpen it, because you do not need to chop wood, but to split it.

Step 4

So, choose one chunk, thick, gnarled, so that it is difficult to split. It is on it that you will chop the rest of the firewood.

Step 5

Dry wood is the easiest to chop. Split the first block in half. And for this you need to hit first on one edge of the chock, and then on the opposite edge. If not cracked, repeat the steps. Split the chop halves in the same way. By the way, it will be easier to "halve" them.

Step 6

Chocks with one or two knots are often found, which complicates the splitting process. Try to strike with a cleaver parallel to the knot from the end farthest from it. So you will significantly save your energy.
