Electrical appliances have entered our lives so much that even the most original novelties are no longer surprising. However, sometimes the very need for such a novelty is questionable. An electric broom is just the case when a potential buyer asks himself why he should buy this particular device.

Electric broom: toy or home helper?

The electric broom is a dubious invention that, although it has won a place on store shelves, has not yet entered the everyday life of ordinary people.

Housewives, considering the device, reasonably notice that if there is a need to clean the room, you can always use a vacuum cleaner, especially since their functionality is constantly expanding. So how does an electric broom differ from a vacuum cleaner, and is it worth buying? To answer this question, it is worth considering all the pros and cons of the device.

An electric broom is a small, rotating, battery-powered roller designed, like a regular broom, to collect dust and debris. The advantage of an electric broom over a conventional one is that there is no need to exert any physical effort when using it. As for the comparison with a vacuum cleaner, the electric broom has both advantages and disadvantages.

Benefits of electric brooms

- an electric broom is much lighter than a vacuum cleaner, and, therefore, more mobile and much more suitable for short-term everyday cleaning. Indeed, in order to collect unexpectedly scattered garbage, it is much easier to use an electric broom than to take out the often bulky vacuum cleaner;

- the electric broom works almost silently and allows you to use it even at night, without disturbing anyone;

Also note the fact that, unlike a vacuum cleaner, a child can handle an electric broom as well, and will not need to touch an electrical outlet.

- the electric broom runs on a battery, so you can use it even in a room where there is no access to the mains;

- the electric broom is not equipped with filters and garbage bags, their replacement is not required, the garbage is simply collected in a scoop;

- the cost of an electric broom is significantly lower than the cost of a high-quality vacuum cleaner.

It is worth emphasizing the convenience of the device, for example, the Körcher company offers consumers electric brooms with a telescopic handle and scoops of different shapes. Japanese manufacturers present several replaceable attachments for the device. So, nozzles with long pile do an excellent job of collecting pet hair, and hard and short fibers collect household waste.

Disadvantages of electric brooms

- an electric broom cannot be considered a complete replacement for a vacuum cleaner, since it does not draw in dust, but simply sweeps it away, like an ordinary broom;

- do not do wet cleaning with an electric broom either;

- the battery charge of the electric broom is limited (from 10 minutes to an hour).

Of course, an electric broom will not replace a vacuum cleaner in the house, but it will be a good addition to it and a tool for quickly cleaning up a small amount of garbage.

The functionality of the electric broom is narrow in comparison with the functionality of modern vacuum cleaners, but sometimes it is the maneuverability, ease, ease of use, the minimum noise level and independence from the mains are the factors that outweigh the scales in favor of the new device.
