If you want to significantly transform your living room or any other room, then we suggest you make an illuminated suspended ceiling. Two-level ceilings have already become classic, which are installed around the perimeter of the room, with a slight lowering of the second level, in which spotlights are mounted.

Instructions

Step 1

First, determine what the dimensions of the protruding part and the depth of the cornice will be. If there is furniture near the walls, then increase the protrusion from this wall so that the lamps do not shine into the top of the cabinet or wall.

Step 2

Level the original ceiling with plaster, especially carefully that part of it that will be visible from the false ceiling. Make markings on the ceiling and walls according to the given dimensions. The average height of the lowering of the ceiling - 15 cm, consists of the height of the cornice - 8 cm and the height of the niche - 7 cm. At the same height (15 cm from the ceiling), electrical wiring is laid on the walls (so that it is convenient to install the lamps).

Step 3

Make a niche from GVL sheets, this will give the suspended ceiling the necessary strength. Use metal corners for fastening. Secure the resulting ceiling structure with spacers for further filling.

Step 4

After you putty, sand and prime, lead the ends of the wiring to the previously prepared places for the lamps. Lead a corrugated cable to the marked places, through which connect the LED strip.

Step 5

Attach horizontal guides, cut to size and install plasterboard strips for the bottom of the niche. Screw the plasterboard to the bottom of the false ceiling cornice. Close the end of the cornice.

Step 6

Place the guide corners on the corners of the eaves. Putty the bottom of the niche, it should be even, without depressions and bumps. Pape over the ceiling with wallpaper for painting so that the joints of the gypsum board do not crack.

Step 7

After gluing the ceiling plinth, cut holes in the ceiling for the fixtures. Install spotlights, install and connect in the apartment, which will delight not only residents, but also guests of your apartment.
