Even with the most careful handling of this or that product, it is impossible to completely insure against the appearance of scratches on it. A lot of troubles can be caused by scratches on plastic parts, for example, in a car. To eliminate significant malfunctions, you will need to contact a repair shop, but you can easily remove small scratches on the plastic on your own.

It is necessary

Abrasive paste, grinder, sandpaper, plastic primer, water, rags, acetone, varnish

Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare the surface to be repaired for repair. If possible, separate the scratched part, clean it from dirt and dust, and rinse thoroughly. If the product is painted, use sandpaper or a grinder to remove loose paint from the repair site, taking care not to leave any roughness there.

Step 2

Sand the surface of the product with acetone. To do this, saturate a clean rag with the compound (it should be lint-free), and then blot the place where the scratch is. In this way, you will clean the surface of dirt residues.

Step 3

Prepare a special plastic primer. It is usually available in cans and is a spray. Shake the can vigorously and spray it slightly to the side to clear the channel and avoid clumping on the surface to be treated.

Step 4

Apply primer to the scratch area by moving the spray spray parallel to the surface of the product. First apply a thick coat of primer, after drying, reapply a thinner coat. If necessary, you can add the third, lightest, to the two layers. After this treatment, the surface of the plastic should dry.

Step 5

Sand the surface again and wipe with acetone. Now paint the plastic the desired color. Be careful when choosing a shade of color in order to avoid a noticeable difference between the color of the base coat and the color of the treated area of the product. Spray paint in two to three thin layers, letting the paint dry after each application. If the scratch is deep enough, the number of layers should be increased. Remove paint streaks that appear immediately with a clean, damp cloth.

Step 6

Set aside the painted product until the paint has completely dried, after which it is ready for further use.
