Most of the pipes that drain water, gas, heat into our apartments cannot be hidden in the wall. This is prohibited by building and sanitary codes. However, this does not mean that you have to constantly contemplate them. There are several ways to help you mask the pipe.

Instructions

Step 1

The best way is to close the pipes with a drywall box. The advantage of the method is that you can arrange free access to all valves and taps, which will be hidden behind an inconspicuous door. If necessary, drywall can be removed.

Step 2

Before closing the pipe, inspect it for defects such as chips, cracks, streaks. If you find them, first fix the pipe, then cover it with a layer of waterproofing (if it is a heating or drainage pipe) so that it does not come as an unpleasant surprise for you to find streaks on the box. For waterproofing, a polypropylene stocking is ideal, which is cut lengthwise, applied to the pipe and wrapped tightly with tape.

Step 3

For the manufacture of the frame, you will need galvanized profiles, dowels and metal screws. First, markings are made on the walls and ceiling, according to this marking, suspensions are attached to the wall with dowels, the profile is attached to them with self-tapping screws, the profile strips are connected to each other with the same self-tapping screws. Do not forget about the door at the junction of pipes and valves. The resulting frame is sheathed with plasterboard, then the joints are putty and decorated with the same materials that decorate the surrounding walls.

Step 4

If there are a lot of pipes on the wall, then it makes sense to close them with the same drywall, but not in the form of a box, but to make a solid wall behind which all the imperfections of the room will be hidden. Additional hydro and thermal insulation will help to relieve third-party noise. True, the disadvantage of such a solution is that the additional wall will "eat" part of the room's space. To make optimal use of the space, you can install niches in the wall that will be filled with decor.

Step 5

In addition to a simple square box or wall, pipes can be hidden in an antique-style plasterboard column. This option is only appropriate if it is in harmony with the style of the surrounding space. An arch, behind which you can also hide a pipe, will suit most interiors.

Step 6

In addition to drywall, plastic wall panels can be used. But they will give a home interior a cheap office look. If neither option is suitable, you can decorate the pipes with woven drapery.

Step 7

In the children's room, the pipe can be turned into a trunk of a colorful tree; in the living room, it is not necessary to hide a pipe or a radiator if they are perfectly flat and covered with gilding.
