Over the question of how best to furnish a small one-room apartment, you have to pretty much smash your head. I would like the apartment to have everything you need for life, and at the same time, so that it does not resemble a warehouse, where there is literally nowhere to turn. You cannot increase its total and living area, but it is quite possible to furnish it rationally, rationally and beautifully.

Instructions

Step 1

Some people living in one-room apartments try to visually enlarge them, demolishing almost all partitions: between the room and the kitchen, between the room and the hallway. Perhaps you shouldn't do that. Firstly, the smell of cooking in the room will then be felt much stronger. Secondly, when you open the front door, the staircase will be visible, and a draft may occur. Finally, thirdly, in such an apartment there can be no question of any personal space, there is simply nowhere to retire, except in the bathroom, and this is a direct path to increased nervousness and conflicts.

Step 2

It is much wiser to do this: choose only the most necessary minimum of household items, without which you definitely cannot do. In the kitchen, there is a refrigerator, a sink and a stove (gas or electric). A small dining table (if your family prefers to eat in the kitchen, not in the room) can be easily made folding, attached to the wall. If necessary, its cover can be lifted and fixed horizontally with a stopper. It can also be used as a work surface for cooking. This will save a lot of space.

Step 3

Store dishes in wall cabinets. Try to do without outdoor ones. As a last resort, if there is not enough space for dishes and cutlery, make or order a homemade cabinet under the windowsill.

Step 4

Instead of swing doors creating a "dead zone" where nothing can be placed, put light accordion-type sliding doors at the entrance to the kitchen and living room, or hang curtains made of dense, heavy fabric.

Step 5

For a living room, try to get the most suitable wall wardrobe in terms of size and functionality, preferably with a corner wardrobe and a niche for a TV. If it provides a geek corner with a sliding keyboard cover and a vertical computer niche, that will be fine. Use the compartment with sturdy shelves for a library, and the one with glass shelves for tea and glassware.

Step 6

A fold-out sofa with an inner compartment for bed linen will serve as a sleeping place. If the family has children, it is advisable to choose a wall that is already equipped with a bunk bed.

Step 7

To make the room appear visually larger, cover it with wallpaper of warm and light colors (for example, yellow, fawn) in a vertical strip.
