The most widespread are moldings made of polystyrene and polyurethane. they are durable, moisture resistant and easy to install with glue. It is necessary

  • - molding;
  • - pencil;
  • - brush;
  • - roulette;
  • - hacksaw;
  • - polyurethane glue;
  • - gold or silver leaf-foil;
  • - varnish

Instructions

Step 1

The polyurethane molding can simply be left white or painted in the color of the furniture. But furniture decorated with "gold" or "silver" molding will look much more stylish and noble. This molding is perfect for decorating almost any furniture - wardrobe, chest of drawers, headboards or nightstands.

Step 2

If you decide to use the molding in this way, then before applying it you need to paint it. Cover the molding with a thin layer of varnish and let it dry a little. Cut a piece of gold leaf and apply it to the molding with a brush. Smooth out the foil gently with a dry cotton swab. Make sure there are no wrinkles or unevenness. Shake off excess foil with a paintbrush. Cut off the next piece of foil and repeat all steps. Make sure the entire molding surface is covered with a neat layer of foil. Let the molding dry. Examine the molding carefully and carefully apply a new coat of varnish where cracks have formed. Glue additional pieces of foil onto them. Shake off excess foil with a paintbrush.

Step 3

Come up with or choose an ornament. Measure the desired distance from the edge of the furniture surface. Mark the surface with small reference points. Gently transfer the drawing to the desired surface using a pencil.

Step 4

Attach the corner moldings to the drawn ornament. Measure the distance between them carefully.

Step 5

Use a hacksaw to cut the molding to the required length, leaving a 1-2 mm "allowance".

Step 6

Lay out the entire ornament on the desired surface and make sure that all the details fit together exactly.

Step 7

Gently apply polyurethane adhesive to the corner pieces of the molding. Align them with the pattern made on the surface and press firmly. After the corner pieces are fixed to the furniture surface, glue the rest of the ornament. Let the glue dry.
