Almost in any house, in the most conspicuous place, under the windows, there are heating radiators, and their appearance does not always correspond to the general design of the room. If you want to decorate the battery, give it a new look, you can go in several ways.

It is necessary

  • - battery screen;
  • - wooden slats, fabric, Velcro, stapler or nails;
  • - sandpaper, white enamel, tape measure, paper with the desired pattern, brushes, PVA glue, paints and heat-resistant varnish;
  • - paint and brushes.

Instructions

Step 1

Select from the store and buy a battery shield. Despite the fact that the screen will hide unsightly heating radiators, nevertheless, do not forget to paint them and dust them from time to time. If you love natural and environmentally friendly materials and your interior is decorated in this style, choose wooden screens. Please note that although they look very attractive, they can crack and deform over time.

Step 2

If you are practical and prefer a modern high-tech style, get screens in painted metal or polished stainless steel. They are cheaper and last much longer, they can simply be hung on the battery without additional mounts.

Step 3

Make a screen for the radiator yourself, to do this, make a wooden frame and attach a decorative wooden grill, mesh or fabric to it. The advantage of this method is that you can choose the fabric of your choice, depending on the textiles found in your interior: upholstery, curtains, tulle, etc. Attach the material to the frame with a furniture stapler, glue gun or just glue. If you don't feel like fiddling with a wooden frame, simply sew the curtain to fit the battery and attach it to the windowsill. In this case, you can use Velcro: sew one part to the curtain, and glue or nail the other to the windowsill.

Step 4

Try decoupage the battery. To do this, prepare sandpaper, white enamel, tape measure, paper with the desired pattern, brushes, PVA glue, paints and heat-resistant varnish. Wash the battery thoroughly and remove the old paint with sandpaper, wipe and dry. Then paint it with white matte enamel and leave to dry for 12 - 18 hours. Measure the width of the battery fragments and trace the prepared paper so that equal lengths lie symmetrically. Cut the drawing according to the drawing. Use PVA glue to glue the drawing to the battery, you can even dilute the glue so that it fits better on the paper. After the drawing is glued, cover the battery with heat-resistant varnish.

Step 5

The battery can be simply painted. Choose a suitable color (or several colors) and apply the paint gently with a brush. Leave to dry for a few hours. By successfully choosing the color, you can get very effective and stylish heating radiators.
