The built-in wardrobe can be designed for clothes or decorative items (photo frames, figurines). In order to make your own built-in drywall wardrobe, you need a little skill and imagination. Careful adherence to the instructions below will allow you to get the job done correctly and in a short time.

It is necessary

  • - drywall
  • - metal profiles
  • - metal corners
  • - screwdriver
  • - self-tapping screws
  • - scissors for metal
  • - roulette
  • - dowels
  • - a hammer
  • - building level

Instructions

Step 1

Preparatory stage.

Choose a place where the cabinet will be located and decide what function it will perform. Draw a detailed drawing of the entire structure on a sheet (to make it easier for you to draw, look at several options on the Internet).

Step 2

Installation of a drywall cabinet.

Transfer the outline of the drawing to the walls, floor and ceiling. Assemble the frame made of metal profiles. If the cabinet is intended for decorative items, it can be of various designs and sizes (during its installation, you will need profiles 28x60 and 27x28).

Step 3

Take sheets of drywall (12mm thick) and cut to size.

Step 4

Begin attaching the sheets to the metal frame using self-tapping screws.

Step 5

After installing all the walls and shelves of the cabinet, seal the cracks and holes from the screws with putty.

Step 6

Reinforce the drywall corners with metal perforated corners. They are mounted on a diluted gypsum filler, recessed into it and set in level.

Step 7

Then you should putty the surface of the drywall with an even layer of finishing putty. After the putty has completely dried, it is sanded with fine sandpaper to a perfectly flat surface.

Step 8

The structure is now ready for painting. The paint is applied in two layers. This is done to give the surface a uniform color. After finishing painting, you can start decorating and equipping your new closet. The paint will dry in 2-3 hours.

Step 9

Every home craftsman can make a built-in wardrobe himself. A drywall cabinet will add style and personality to the interior of your home.
