Instructions

Step 1

The easiest way to update your kitchen is to work on the furniture fronts by changing their color. Plastic or wooden facades can be repainted or covered with self-adhesive foil, after which new door handles can be installed. And your kitchen will be transformed.

Step 2

In order to perform this operation, first of all, you will have to take out all the boxes and remove all the doors from the hinges, while unscrewing the handles and other accessories. After that, all surfaces that will be painted or pasted over must be properly washed (you can use a soda solution or detergents for the kitchen) and dry. Then degrease the surface by wiping it with acetone or white spirit.

Step 3

You can paint your kitchen furniture with any waterproof paint (latex, acrylic, oil). But one of the best options is car enamel in spray cans. It fits well and evenly even on plastic surfaces that are difficult to paint, it is easy to apply and dries quite quickly.

Step 4

If you decide to use self-adhesive paper, keep in mind: this is a painstaking occupation that requires special care. To prevent the film from going "at random", before pasting, you can slightly moisten the facades with cold water - in this case, the film will not stick immediately, and you will have time to move or correct the unevenly "shrunk" film. When gluing the film, smooth it from the center to the edges, "dispersing" bubbles and wrinkles to the sides - in the same way as when gluing wallpaper.

Step 5

Countertops that have lost their appearance and have lost their appearance can be removed and covered with thick oilcloth on a fabric base, matching it to the color of your new facades. This is a fairly simple procedure, so you can change the oilcloth at least every month - as soon as the previous one gets damaged or just gets bored. You can fix the oilcloth with double-sided tape.
