The cost of assembling a kitchen set is approximately 30% of the total cost of a new kitchen. At the same time, you can assemble a kitchen cabinet on your own if you have a desire, an ordinary tool and some skills to work with this tool. All cabinets are assembled according to the same principle, and knowing these principles will help you not only save a sufficient amount of money, but also give you confidence that the assembly was done efficiently.

It is necessary

  • - Screwdriver;
  • - a set of Phillips screwdrivers;
  • - level;
  • - a set of hexagonal screwdrivers;
  • - drill.

Instructions

Step 1

First of all, lay out all the components in order to understand if everything is in stock. Select the required fittings. Check availability with the list that all major manufacturers are required to put in packages with furniture fittings.

Step 2

If the cabinet to be assembled has shelves, make sure that the holes for the shelf supports are drilled in the side walls. Unfortunately, sometimes manufacturers miss one or two holes. It is very easy to drill them yourself, but only while the cabinet is disassembled.

Step 3

If you are building a cabinet with drawers, install and secure the drawer rails. The guides are always supplied in pairs: right and left. Make sure they are complete and match the boxes. As a rule, manufacturers make a basting on the side walls, along which the guides are attached.

Step 4

When setting the guides, make sure that you have correctly identified where the sides are at the back and where are at the front. In modern furniture, the back wall of cabinets, as a rule, is not fastened with nails; the method of installing HDF sheet into specially cut grooves is more often used. It is the location of the grooves that will show you where your cabinet will have a back wall, and where the doors will be attached.

Step 5

Assemble the side walls and bottom. They are attached to each other with special furniture ties. As a rule, eccentric furniture ties are used for cabinets. If conventional ties are used to assemble the body, the kit should include plastic plugs that cover the tie heads from the outside.

Step 6

Insert the back wall into the grooves.

Step 7

Install the legs and place the cabinet where you plan to install it. If there is a socket or some communication elements behind the cabinet, make markings on the back wall. Then take it out, cut the hole to the correct size and put the back wall back.

Step 8

Using the zip ties, install the locking bar and the back cross member. You will attach the countertop to them. Check the squareness of the side walls, bottom and crossbars.

Step 9

Assemble the drawers, if included with the cabinet. The drawer is assembled using the same technology as the cabinet body. Attach the inner rails to the bottom of the box on the sides. Put the drawer back in place and make sure all parts match and the drawer moves easily.

Step 10

Install the countertop. Check the horizontal position with a level, and attach the tabletop to the crossbars using self-tapping screws. If you are assembling a set of several cabinets united by a common tabletop, start assembly from the outer cabinet and install the tabletop only after you have assembled the entire set.

Step 11

Attach the furniture hinges to the door. The manufacturer is obliged to make the appropriate markings. Then fit the hinge cups into the round grooves on the inside of the side wall. Supporting the door, use self-tapping screws to attach the door to the body. Make sure the doors are straight and there are no gaps between them and the body. If necessary, adjust the position of the door by tightening the adjusting screw on the hinges.

Step 12

Install the door handles on the fronts. Refit the shelf supports, shelves and drawers.
