Cilantro, aka coriander, is the dream of any housewife. It is used for both baking and canning. The healing properties of coriander have been known since ancient times. Perhaps, there are not so many diseases in the world in which this miraculous herb would not help alleviate suffering. Cilantro can be grown both in the summer cottage and on the balcony or even on the windowsill. True, the latter is somewhat more complicated - although cilantro is not very capricious, it still has some peculiarities.

Instructions

Step 1

Prepare your garden bed. If you are just starting to equip your summer cottage, choose a place for cilantro where perennial grass grew. Mow the grass, dig up the soil and mix the soil with the cut grass. Cilantro grows best in light soil, so sand can be added if necessary. The coriander area should be well lit and clean.

Step 2

Mark the furrows. Coriander does not need to be planted very deeply - no more than 10 cm. The optimal distance between furrows is 40-50 cm.

Step 3

Soak the seeds. It is better to use a natural growth stimulant for this - for example, aloe juice. In this case, the seeds will germinate faster.

Step 4

Sow seeds, cover them with earth. If you plant coriander before winter, you don't need anything else for now, you just have to wait for spring.

Step 5

Coriander does not like weeds very much, so it must be weeded periodically. Remove weeds as soon as seedlings emerge. Do this a few more times until the cilantro is strong. Adult plants do not need frequent weeding, they themselves are able to cope with any weeds.

Step 6

Cilantro can be harvested several times over the summer. If you have the opportunity to allocate several beds for coriander, sow seeds on one of them in early spring, in another two weeks later, and so on. You need to plant cilantro in different beds during one summer.

Step 7

If you want to grow cilantro on your balcony, make a long box. Pour some rubble at the bottom - there should be good drainage. Sprinkle in a mixture of earth and sand. Make shallow grooves and sow the seeds in the same way as in the garden. But cilantro is unlikely to want to grow on a heavily shaded balcony, so you will either have to abandon this idea or make artificial lighting. You can also grow coriander on the windowsill, but it is better to do this in the country and transplant the finished bush.
