Mold in the bathroom is one of the most common problems in almost every home. It is the mold on the walls that is the first signal to start active actions to improve the room.

The first thing worth paying attention to is the state of the plumbing equipment. Check pipes and taps, if you find a leak, then immediately take action, because the formation of condensation has a beneficial effect on the spread of fungus.

It is recommended to replace all pipes with plastic ones, they do not perspire.

After that, carefully examine all surfaces in the bathroom, especially in hard-to-reach places. Cleanse the affected areas thoroughly. If the flexible lesion has penetrated to a sufficiently large depth, then it is best to clean the surface completely of paint or plaster.

Next, you need to dry the room, here you cannot do without special equipment. Heat guns or heaters are used. Only after these works can you start processing, otherwise the fungus may reappear.

Special antiseptic agents are used to treat walls, ceilings, the junction of the bathtub and sink with the wall several times, paying special attention to the corners, joints and those places that will later turn out to be darkened.

All finishing and building materials used in the bathroom must have a high degree of moisture resistance. The higher it is, the more likely you are to completely forget about the fungus.

You can treat the affected surfaces with a special agent - creosote, it must be dissolved in water, ether or alcohol. The only difficulty with this treatment is the mandatory use of a mask and gloves.

Treatment with a solution of acetic or boric acid, hydrogen peroxide or soda is quite effective. Any of these products must be dissolved in water at a ratio of 1:10, then brought to a temperature of 50-70 ° C, applied to the surface with a sponge and left to dry completely. Then rinse everything thoroughly with warm water.

The use of chlorine-containing products guarantees long-term elimination of the fungus. The only negative point is a pungent smell, which can be kept in the room for a very long time. Usually this type of treatment is used in various institutions, bleach is a good antiseptic, no living organism, including a fungus, can get along with it.

If you managed to defeat mold and fungal growth, you should not relax. The bathroom is the best place for the emergence of new foci, it is always warm and humid here, it is this microclimate that promotes reproduction. Therefore, preventive measures can be safely called another effective way of fighting.

Even if you have never had a fungus in the bathroom, it is imperative to carry out periodic surface inspections. And if you defeated him, then you should not relax, he will definitely not return only if you regularly treat surfaces with antiseptic solutions.
