Timely defrosting of the refrigerator is a prerequisite for its correct operation. However, this procedure takes quite a long time, and the hostesses deliberately do not rush with it. Such a delay can disrupt the operation of the device and subsequently lead to its breakdown. There are ways to defrost your refrigerator quickly and safely.
It is necessary
- - several cups;
- - warm water;
- - hairdryer or fan;
- - terry cloth;
- - baking soda or salt.
Instructions
Step 1
Empty the refrigerator completely before defrosting. It is permissible to temporarily leave vegetables, fruits and canned food in factory packaging in the kitchen. Store dairy and meat products in a cool place. Large chunks of frozen meat can be used as a makeshift glacier. Wrap them in several layers of plastic and place with any perishable food. This will keep your stocks at a low storage temperature.
Step 2
When you have emptied the refrigerator, unplug it from the power supply. Open the refrigerator and freezer doors to allow warm air to enter the interior of the appliance. Place a collection container on the lower shelves of both compartments. It is better to put a cloth on the floor in front of the refrigerator, which will absorb the moisture formed during the defrosting process.
Step 3
Complete defrosting of the refrigerator takes 5-6 hours on average. To dramatically speed up this process, fill several cups with warm water and refrigerate. The water should not be too hot, as high temperatures can easily damage the appliance.
Step 4
You can quickly remove the ice crust from the side walls of the refrigerator using a heating pad with warm water. Lean it carefully against the ice build-up, wait for it to thaw and remove the pieces of ice that have fallen off. Using warm water will significantly speed up the defrosting process and the refrigerator will be ready for use in 2 hours.
Step 5
It will take even less time to defrost if you use a regular hair dryer or fan. Direct a stream of warm air onto the ice crust and heat it until it falls away from the walls of the device. Remove ice pieces and excess moisture with a cloth.
Step 6
After defrosting the refrigerator, thoroughly wipe both compartments with warm water. Clean off stubborn dirt with baking soda or salt, these substances are also good disinfectants. Then wipe the walls of the appliance dry. Place the food in its place and connect the refrigerator to the mains.
