Make it a rule to clean the toilet at least once every three days, then you don't have to clean out the stubborn rust.

It is necessary

  • - Tartaric acid,
  • - oxalic acid,
  • - ammonia,
  • - hydrochloric acid,
  • - hydrogen peroxide,
  • - sponge or brush.

Instructions

Step 1

A variety of products are used to remove rust: powders, pastes, gels and liquids. All of the above preparations contain acids that will help dissolve rust. But at the same time, as a result of a chemical reaction, salts are formed. If they are not immediately washed off, they will gradually begin to erode the enamel of the toilet bowl. It is by no means recommended to use such funds every day. Do not use hard and coarse-grained abrasives to clean the toilet, they can scratch the enamel surface and reduce the gloss of the coating.

Step 2

Rust can be removed from enameled and earthenware toilets with a 20% solution of tartaric acid (20 ml of acid per 80 ml of water) or 5% solution of oxalic acid (5 ml of acid per 95 ml of water), which must be applied to the internal surface and leave for a while. After that, wipe the toilet with a cloth dipped in ammonia and rinse with clean water. Your toilet shines clean again.

Step 3

Hydrochloric acid will also help remove stubborn rust that cannot be cleaned with conventional cleaning agents. Pour two tablespoons of hydrochloric acid onto the dry surface of the toilet, spread it with a sponge or brush, and leave for 15-20 minutes. After that, flush the toilet with water several times to get rid of the acid residues. In this case, special precautions must be taken: work with rubber gloves and goggles, do not inhale the acid - you can burn the mucous membrane.

Step 4

The resulting rust stains on an enamel, marble or earthenware toilet can be removed using hydrogen peroxide and ammonia, mixed in a ratio of 9: 1. Lubricate the place of rust with the resulting solution and leave for several hours. It remains only to wash the toilet with a disinfectant.

Step 5

Today in stores you can find a huge number of toilet bowl cleaners, the most effective of them are: "Mole", "Sanitary-1, 2", "Triumph", "Sanita", "Silit".
