Instructions

Step 1

Start by building a brick pipe. It is best to shape the channels into a square or rectangle. The optimal aspect ratio is 2: 3. For laying channels from bricks, use a similar mortar that was used for the construction of the load-bearing walls of the house. Do not forget about bandaging the stitches. It can be conventional, that is, variable stacking of the butt and spoon rows.

Step 2

Please note that the channels must have a smooth surface. There should be no protrusions and depressions on it at all. That is why it is best to construct them using wooden or steel templates. In the process of work, gently lift the template up by the handles. Thus, you can achieve accurate dimensions and smoothness of the channel walls.

Step 3

In the chimney, which is erected with a deviation from the vertical, lay the inner walls of the channels with bricks perpendicular to the reference line. Embroider or plaster the chimney shafts from the outside along the entire height. The only exceptions are areas that pass through fire-resistant ceilings.

Step 4

It is highly discouraged to plaster the inner surface of the chimney. The fact is that the chemical reactions that take place between substances will contribute to the rapid destruction of the chimney. The partitions between the channels must have a certain thickness, equal to the thickness of half of the brick. It must also be observed for the front side of the inner wall.

Step 5

If you are laying channels in the outer wall of the house, then make the outer walls of the pipe 1 brick thick, that is, 25 cm. It is recommended to make additional insulation. To do this, use mineral wool. Lay it in a layer of 5 cm. It is best to group the smoke and gas ducts with ventilation. Thanks to this, heat loss will be much less. Better traction will also be provided.
