How pleasant it is to sit in a comfortable armchair after a long day at work with a cup of aromatic tea! But one day you notice that the water in the kettle has become cloudy, a strange taste and white flakes have appeared. This is scale - limescale, the appearance of which is facilitated by the increased hardness of the water. In addition to all the troubles, it also threatens the electric kettle with breakdown. Therefore, it is urgent to get rid of scale.

Instructions

Step 1

The easiest way is to buy any "decalcifier" in the store and clean the kettle following the instructions. Such a tool is usually inexpensive. But, if you want to protect your health from accidental ingestion of chemicals, it is better to use natural remedies.

Step 2

Scale is an alkaline compound that can be removed with an acid. At home, vinegar can be used for these purposes. Pour 100 ml of acetic acid (9%) into the kettle, add 1-1.5 liters of water (preferably filtered).

Step 3

Boil the resulting solution and leave for at least two hours, and if possible, overnight.

Step 4

After pouring out the solution, rinse the kettle thoroughly with running water and boil again to remove the remaining vinegar and limescale.

Step 5

If it was not possible to get rid of the plaque completely, repeat the entire procedure from the very beginning or try another folk remedy.

Step 6

In addition to acetic acid, citric acid can be used to combat scale - 1 tablespoon per 1.5-2 liters of water. Pour acid into a kettle, fill with hot water and leave for 15-20 minutes. It is not necessary to boil the solution. If the plaque was not very strong, then after the specified time, the kettle will shine like new.

Step 7

In the absence of citric acid and vinegar in the house, do not despair. This may be unexpected, but in the old days, grandmothers got rid of potatoes!

Take clean potato peels, cover the bottom of the kettle and add 1.5-2 liters of cold water.

Step 8

Bring the water in the kettle to a boil several times (4-5, depending on the complexity of the task) and leave to cool.

Step 9

Drain the cooled water and rinse the kettle well with tap water.

Step 10

If you are still not happy with the result, try another very extravagant remedy.

Buy a liter bottle of "Sprite" or "Fanta" from the store and shake it until the gases disappear.

Step 11

Pour the drink into a kettle, heat up and leave overnight.

Step 12

In the morning, pour your sweet "decalcifier" into the sink and rinse the kettle. After all these procedures, the scale should disappear without a trace.
