A beautiful fence made of scrap materials can become a real decoration of a summer cottage or a personal plot, of course, if you do not need to build an impregnable blank fence. The most inexpensive, simple to manufacture, but "poetic" in appearance, a fence for your garden is a wattle fence.

It is necessary

  • - logs;
  • - poles;
  • - rods;
  • - wire;
  • - nails;
  • - polyethylene film.

Instructions

Step 1

A wattle fence is a wooden fence that can be built from pre-assembled stakes, branches, brushwood, twigs, skillfully weaving them together. It can be made in two versions: in the first, the rods are placed vertically, in the second - horizontally. It is preferable to search for material from flexible trees. These are willow, hazel, alder, poplar, willow.

Step 2

Before working with more "thin" wattle material - rods, take care of a solid base. You need to prepare the required number of shredded logs with a diameter of 10 to 12 cm, poles, peeled from bark, with a diameter of 6 to 8 cm. Decide on the height and length of the wattle fence. Cut enough rods as needed. Their length depends on the height of the hedge: they should be 10-12 centimeters longer than the planned height.

Step 3

The pillars are buried in the ground, having previously treated the deepened ends with tar or other protective impregnations. Poles are nailed to them, placing them in three rows. It is enough to place the lower row at a height of about 20 cm from the ground, the upper one - on the same one, the third one - in the middle between the first two.

Step 4

The length of the fence bars is chosen based on the planned strength of the fence. The structure will not have a large load, so the crossbeams can be spliced and lengthened by twisting with wire or knocking them down with nails.

Step 5

Next, you need to thread the rods, dividing them into even and odd. In this case, the ends of the odd rods will be located vertically between the lower and upper rungs, and their middle is behind the middle one. The even branches will lie the other way around: the middle part will be located in front of the middle pole. With the horizontal arrangement of the rods, the crossbeams are not needed. The pillars are installed at a distance of 1.5-2 meters from each other, the stakes between them - after 50-60 cm. Then they are intertwined with branches horizontally.

Step 6

The flexibility of the rods is different. To increase it, on the eve of the construction of the branches, it is recommended to soak it for two or three days (it is possible in a well, a pond, another body of water). Another method is also used - take a piece of plastic wrap, wrap the rods in it, having previously watered them with hot water (60-70 degrees). Leave it for two or three days, periodically opening the cloth and re-pouring hot water. The branches should always be kept moist. You will have to work with batches of such blanks, spending stocks gradually, since a lot of material will be required.
