The hostess appreciated the advantages of an electric oven immediately. This is not only safety and ease of management, but also the expansion of the functionality of the equipment. So modern electric ovens have combined the capabilities of a microwave oven with its option for defrosting, grilling and steaming food. And if the choice of such an oven is a fairly simple task, then during the installation you will have to solve several problems.

How to connect an electric oven

It is necessary

  • - 16 or 32 amp sockets;
  • - automatic machine for 25 or 40 amperes.

Instructions

Step 1

Study the electrical specifications of the oven to ensure the correct installation of the socket. Depending on the power consumption, it is necessary to calculate the maximum electrical current required to connect the equipment. Most often, the power is about 3-3, 5 kW - then 16 amperes will be enough. Otherwise, you need to rely on a current of 32 amperes.

Step 2

Choose an oven socket. Pay attention to the wiring in the kitchen. If it was laid during the construction of the house, and this was probably 20-30 years ago, then a separate wire must be connected for the oven. The new wiring line is laid using copper wire, the cross-section of which depends on the maximum required electrical current. So at 16 amperes, 2.5 mm2 is enough, at 32 - 4.0 mm2.

Step 3

Install a separate machine for the oven, through which you will connect it to the electrical panel. It should be rated for 25 or 40 amps, 16 or 32 amps, respectively.

Step 4

Ground the oven. To do this, either arrange a separate line that will lead to the access power cabinet or use a special grounding conductor if three-wire wiring is laid in your apartment.
