You have installed a new electricity meter on your own and are happy with its correct operation. But if you do not notify the housing and communal services about this, fines cannot be avoided. To calmly take meter readings and pay for them, you need to seal the meter.

Instructions

Step 1

Do not throw away the old meter until an electrician from the housing and utilities service has not rewritten its serial number and recorded the electricity consumption readings at the time of its dismantling. It is not necessary to preserve old seals, but it is better to leave them - suddenly you come across a fastidious electrician.

Step 2

Contact the housing and utilities service for which your home is assigned. If you do not know where to go, check the address of the service in the city information desk, indicating your area, street and house number. In the accounting department of the housing and communal service, take a receipt for payment of services for sealing the electric meter and pay for this service at the nearest branch of Sberbank.

Step 3

Return to the housing department and show the paid receipt to the dispatcher on duty. After checking the bank's marks of payment, the dispatcher will appoint the day and time of sending a specialist of the housing and communal services (electrician) to your address and issue an act that the electrician will have to fill out on the spot when inspecting and sealing the meter.

Step 4

Wait for the visit of the electrician, take him to the new meter, show the old one. Installing new seals does not take much time, wait for the master to do his job. Give him the act received from the housing and communal service. Make sure that the electrician has correctly recorded all the data in the certificate (serial number of the old and new meter, the last reading on the old meter and the current value on the new one).

Step 5

With the completed act, contact the housing and communal service again so that the authorized persons certify the drawn up act of sealing the electricity meter and put the seal of the organization. Departments can be called differently, but usually the signature is put by the chief engineer of the service, and the seal is by the accounting department or office.

Step 6

With a certified act, contact the unified cash settlement center, wait for the specialists to recalculate and register the new readings of the electricity meter. After that, pay for the consumed electricity already according to the indications of the new electricity meter.
