When the construction of the house is nearing completion, it is time to think about the improvement of the site. Surely you will want to equip a recreation area, lay paths, prepare a convenient parking space, etc. All this implies concreting areas of various shapes. You can, of course, asphalt them, but you will hardly be able to lay the asphalt on your own, and from an aesthetic point of view, concreting is preferable.

Instructions

Step 1

First, using pegs and rope, mark out the location and shape of the site. Remove the fertile soil layer and store for a while. In the future, you will find a worthy use for it - you use it for the device of greenhouses, beds, etc. The depth of the selected layer should be about 25 cm (if you do not plan to place KamAZ on it).

Determine if there will be any communications under the site. If yes, then lay for them "cases" of pipes or boxes. Smooth the soil and tamp it lightly.

Step 2

Now proceed to the construction of the sand-crushed stone pillow - the base of the future site or track. Its thickness depends on the expected load - the higher the load, the thicker the layer of sand, gravel and concrete should be.

First, sprinkle a 10cm layer of sand. Moisten it and tamp it down. Then a layer of crushed stone of the same thickness. Water it also and seal thoroughly.

Step 3

Make the formwork in advance in the form of a rectangle with sides of 1m and 1.5m. To make it, take an edged board 20-25mm thick, 7-8cm wide (you can use used boards).

Place the formwork on the crushed stone layer so that the upper edge of the board protrudes 2-3 cm above the ground level. Check the correct setting with a level. Lay the reinforcement mesh inside.

Step 4

Prepare a concrete mortar of cement, sand and water in a 1: 3 ratio and pour it inside the formwork. Put the mortar a little more than the top edge of the formwork board. Using a rammer (you can take a thick 50 mm board with a length of 1, 2 m), level the concrete layer along the upper edge of the board. If voids remain, add mortar and re-level. Let it harden a little and cover with a layer of wet sawdust or rags.

Fill the next rectangle in the same way, until the entire area is filled with an even layer of concrete. The boards left inside the site will act as a compensator during thermal expansion and will not allow concrete to break when the temperature changes from plus to minus and vice versa.

Step 5

Moisten the sawdust within 3 days so that the concrete surface does not crack when it dries. When the concrete has hardened, remove the formwork boards on the outer sides of the site and install a curb.
