One of the most common options for insulating a wooden house is the construction of a dam. This is a kind of fence that covers the entire house around the perimeter and creates an additional barrier. In the past, the filling was made in bulk: between the walls of the house and the fence, earth, straw and natural insulation were covered. Modern blockages are erected from timber, expanded polystyrene and other building materials. In addition, they are insulated.

It is necessary

  • - cement;
  • - sand;
  • - shovel;
  • - water;
  • - expanded clay;
  • - liquid soap;
  • - insulation;
  • - polyurethane foam;
  • - special glue;
  • - facade paint;
  • - brush;
  • - brick or other finishing material.

Instructions

Step 1

Dig a trench around the debris. Pour the expanded clay concrete screed at its bottom. The composition of the screed should be as follows: 3 parts of sand, 0.8 parts of tap water, 1 part of cement and 6 parts of expanded clay, and for better viscosity, add a tablespoon of liquid soap.

Step 2

Wait for the trench tie to bond well. After that, install insulation sheets to the wall of the filling. Glue the sheets of insulation with a special glue, for example, "Flisenkleber".

Step 3

When installing the insulation, seal the gap between it and the wall with polyurethane foam. In the event that communications (ventilation and sewer pipes) pass from the basement through the dam, then install inspection hatches at their turns, which will be useful for cleaning in the future.

Step 4

After gluing expanded polystyrene or other insulation, lubricate the surface of the insulation material with a thin layer of glue: this is necessary so that the solution adheres to the insulation. Following this, install the formwork panels and fill the structure with expanded clay concrete. As a result, the insulation of the dam is completely isolated from the effects of adverse external factors, including moisture and rodents.

Step 5

Finishing can be done at your request, that is, with any material used for external finishing work. The most common option is to plaster the insulated mound, and then paint this structure with acrylic facade paint. In addition, the insulated filling can be overlaid with facade facing bricks, natural stone or special ceramic tiles.
