Almost everyone associates New Year with a miracle, this holiday is expected like no other. Gifts for friends and family have been purchased, carefully wrapped in shiny wrapping paper or special boxes purchased for the occasion. Thoroughly thought out grocery stocks "to be enough for all days" and, accordingly, the menu. Guests are invited. An outfit was chosen, and also the outfits of the household were meticulously examined. Everything seems to be ready for the long-awaited holiday. But no, it remains to decorate the tree and prepare the apartment for the New Year.

Instructions

Step 1

Decide on a Christmas tree - the main decoration of the New Year's Eve. (This is the only way they say - New Year's Eve, in fact, our people decorate the Christmas tree for Catholic Christmas and do not clean it until the Old New Year.) Decide which room it will stand in. Probably, it is right to put a Christmas tree in the living room, but often a nursery is chosen for these purposes. If you are going to celebrate, then the first option is preferable. Decide whether live or artificial spruce will delight you this year. Even adherents of resource-saving ideas are unlikely to object to Christmas trees in tubs, which do not dry in trash heaps since mid-January, but are carefully planted in the nearest suburbs in order to eventually grow into tall, slender beauties. In recent years, Christmas trees in tubs have become a real trend, second only to artificial ones. The advantages of these nylon holiday symbols are that they do not have to be bought every year, and then "discredited" to the regret of adult households and the tears of babies. You do not need to take to plant anywhere or suffer from remorse if it did not work out in time and the tree has already begun to shower the needles, which indirectly indicates the dying off of small roots. Also, an artificial tree is not so alluring for a cat, moreover, you do not need to sweep under it five times a day and shout to children so that they do not trample and carry needles with socks or soft slippers throughout the apartment. Such a tree has only one minus, but very significant - it is not real.

Step 2

Decorate the room where the New Year's celebration will take place, as well as the entire apartment in the spirit of the holiday. Purchased garlands can be chosen as decoration - now the current topic is monochrome, that is, garlands are chosen of the same color, suitable for the interior, and do not flash with different colors. By the way, the tree can also have the same toys. For example, white or red balls on matching satin ribbons. Of course, if the family has small children, then it is better to decorate the Christmas tree in the traditional style - with an abundance of a variety of fantasy toys. But the "adult" New Year is quite possible to afford to do just that. Another option for decorating a Christmas tree is to leave it without toys at all. Boil a 50 percent saline solution and spray it on the branches. When the water dries up, the tree will be covered with "frost". Of course, this should never be done with a living tree in a tub. Subsequently, the precipitation will wash away the salt deposit, but some knots are injured. Attach real spruce cones to the "snow" tree with the help of unbent paper clips - it is unlikely that among your guests there will be someone who does not recognize this tree as one of the most stylish ones he has ever seen.

Step 3

Cut out large traditional snowflakes from white cardboard (or cute cockerels from red, because their year is coming), and then hang them from the ceiling on a fishing line. From a draft or just an air flow from the window, they will sway, as if filling the room with a fabulous movement. As duplicate elements, windows can be decorated with origami figures suspended in the same way. But the snowflakes cut from napkins and glued to glass with a paste made from starch, as our grandmothers did, no longer look modern. Complement simple laconic cardboard decorations with a white shelf, decorated in New Year's style, hang red socks for gifts under it - the decoration of the "light" format room is ready.

Step 4

If you want to do something a little more complicated, store some spruce branches and hang Christmas wreaths in several places, intertwined with the same satin ribbon as your Christmas balls. Designer refrains are stylish. Just do not go over the amount of decor - ribbons, some cones and some kind of color accent - in principle, this is enough for wreaths. Instead, you can make a spruce garland, for fastening using any glue or tape. The essence of the garland design is the same - the main thing is not to make it lurid. A holiday is a holiday, and nobody canceled good taste. However, if you want a riot of color, be consistent - it should be in everything. Then forget about monochrome and minimalism, let colors reign in your New Year's room! Arrange a real festive kitsch, the main thing is that the New Year's interior does not enter into dissonance either with your mood or with the mood of the invited guests.

Step 5

Decorate the room for the New Year, not only by varying the color accents, but also by adding some details that are strongly associated with Christmas. It doesn't matter if you adhere to Catholicism or are an Orthodox Christian, in the room where you will celebrate, gingerbread houses with shutters and roofs that seem to be frosty with sugar glaze, and do-it-yourself toy copies of reindeer harnesses, and lithographs with classic biblical subjects are appropriate in the room where you will celebrate. New Year is a secular holiday, it is outside of religious confessions, and for that matter, in its "progenitors" are ancient pagans, so which interior details refer to Catholic Christmas and which to Orthodox in most cases does not play a serious role. For example, in a room decorated for the New Year, reprints of the same lithographs will look very relevant on bottles decorated using decoupage technique. Stick candles in such bottles, light them, let them burn out a little so that the melted wax drops and drips onto the drawing, place such candlesticks around the room - and the New Year's decoration of the home can be considered complete.
