Relaxing on an inflatable mattress is convenient both when going outdoors and at home. Fill it with air - it makes a great sleeping place. Deflate - the mattress folds up compactly in a small bag. This product has one drawback - it can be easily pierced. But this is not a reason to throw it away.

It is necessary

  • Skin
  • Acetone (solvent, gasoline)
  • Rubber patch
  • Glue
  • Press

Instructions

Step 1

Bleed the air from the mattress and prepare it for repair. Such products often have a fleecy surface that prevents the glue from firmly seizing. Carefully line the area around the hole in the mattress with a sandpaper. Degrease this area: treat it thoroughly with acetone, thinner or gasoline.

Step 2

Prepare a suitable patch. It can be just a piece of rubber. An air mattress is often supplied with a ready-made repair kit - it includes patches and glue. What else can you use?

• Buy a special PVC (polyvinyl chloride) boat repair kit from a sporting goods store. It is inexpensive and it helps great.

• Kits for sealing bicycle tubes are good for repairing air mattresses.

• You can also use self-adhesive vinyl for outdoor advertising. When the mattress is inflated, the patch will stretch with the mattress.

Step 3

Buy good glue. Usually silicate glue, "Moment" or PVC glue is used to repair air mattresses. Apply a thin layer of glue to both glued surfaces and then follow its instructions - immediately apply the patch carefully or wait for the required time (up to 15 minutes).

Step 4

Press the patch firmly against the damaged area! Put a press on the sealed place (carefully, do not move it from its place!) And let stand for several hours. It is not recommended to inflate the repaired mattress earlier than in 12-14 hours.

Step 5

Call specialists in the repair of rubber and orthopedic mattresses if for some reason you could not cope with it yourself. Find out if there are such services in your city - by phone information or via the Internet. They repair punctures and tears in the product in their office or at home.
